“My heart is broken but what a great legacy he’s left,” the owner of Wild Visions Photo, April Avery said. “He truly loved Carbon County.”

Avery is talking about Billy O “Cowboy” Wadsworth who passed away on May 31. 

Cowboy was a human being whose passing touched a lot of people throughout the County.

The Saratoga Council of Catholic Women (CCCW), a service and faith-based organization for local Catholic women, held their final regular meeting until September this week, during which they installed newly elected officers who will serve two-year terms.

On a warm summer evening in Saratoga, the freshly renovated Woods ball fields come alive with the sounds of America’s favorite pastime. Children of all ages gather to enjoy an evening of t-ball.

This past weekend lot was going on in Carbon County. The Valley had a theater, Sinclair had a concert and smaller events were going around all over County.

The North had several events going on at the same time.

Everyone, especially the hungry and lonely, are invited to “Gather at the Table” for a free meal and fellowship Monday, May 6th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Third and Bridge Streets in downtown Saratoga.

On the menu is Chicken Alfredo penne bake, with a hearty salad, garlic bread, chocolate cream delight and drinks.

Larry Vyvey was born in 1939 into one of the earliest pioneering families of the Platte Valley, the Verplancke-Vyvey dynasty. Larry learned early from his father, mother, uncles, aunts, and grandparents that earning one’s way in the world just takes hard work and he had plenty of people to emulate. Larry eventually developed an interest in dairy cows, from his father.

Kyle Warren was raised in Elk Mountain and went to high school in Hanna and now teaches at the Hanna Elementary School. He is an EMT and is a guy who loves where he was raised and lives.

Warren has a passion that has been with him since he was a child.

It is photography, with an emphasis on photographing wildlife. 

He is good at it too.

Lee the Horselogger is sort of like an eclipse. 

Years might go by without seeing him as he travels across the country, something he has been doing since 2006 and then one day he might show up. Lee said he had come through Carbon County in 20012 and 2018.

He doesn’t give out a surname, but he has been seen and written about for years.
