Megan McComas and Casey Shinkle had their second annual food truck festival on Saturday, October 5, at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.

The event grew with more food trucks and vendors, but because of the strong wind conditions that closed traffic to high-profile vehicles, several vehicles did not make it that had signed up.

On Saturday, September 28, friends and family gathered at the Saratoga Middle High School gym to celebrate the life of Loren “Teense” Willford, a beloved figure known for his larger-than-life personality and infectious spirit. While it’s uncommon for us to cover such personal events, Teense’s impact resonated far beyond Saratoga and the Platte Valley.

The Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County recently hosted the Wyoming Junior Youth of the Year competition, drawing nine clubs from across the state to compete for the prestigious title. The event, held in Rawlins, showcased the talents, leadership, and public speaking skills of Wyoming’s young leaders.

Although storms were running through the County on the afternoon of September 11, Rawlins was spared and it was a pleasant but blustery day. It was a good day for a 9/11 Memorial.

The event, held at the courthouse in Rawlins, started promptly at 5:30 p.m. and the program was led by Tink Day, the 23-year organizer of this ceremony in memory of the victims of 9/11.

Food Bank of Wyoming is joining Feeding America’s national Hunger Action Month® campaign and asking for the public’s help to nourish communities. Thanks to the generosity of Powder River Energy Foundation, with the support of Powder River Energy Corporation, CoBank, and Basin Electric, all donations — up to $35,000 — made to Food Bank of Wyoming during Hunger Action Month will be matched.
