Rawlins Bus Service Keeps Community Moving

“There are residents in Rawlins that don’t even know we have a bus service,” Jerry Mason, the bus driver for the city, said. “Most of the customers I get are people that have come to town where maybe their car broke down, truck drivers that are getting work, and people that don’t have cars.”

The 22nd Annual Festival of Trees Gala & Auction brought a splash of island sunshine to downtown Saratoga on Dec. 5, drawing record-breaking attendance. Guests mingled among twinkling trees, festive décor, and a tropical Christmas theme, “Mele Kalikimaka,” the Hawaiian greeting for “Merry Christmas.”

The Wyoming Woman Gifts and Consignment in Rawlins is one of those places, but if a loyal customer went to Buffalo Street to find the place, they would be disappointed because Wyoming Woman has moved.

The Discover Carbon County’s (DCC) annual report has just been released. It breaks down budget performance, shows events and organizations it has assisted during the year and explains what it does.

According to DCC, the mission is to promote events, tourism, and the hospitality industry in Carbon County. DCC promotes Carbon County as a destination to visit year-round.

The downtown businesses in Rawlins came up with an idea for Christmas that got customers involved and was a fun idea. According to Pam Thayer, the Executive Director for the Rawlins Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the event is sort of a scavenger hunt that started on November 28 (Black Friday) and will run until December 23.
