The Elk Mountain Hotel had a dinner with author C. J. Box as the guest. Guests came from all over, including visitors from Tennessee, Nebraska and Texas. There were plenty of locals too.

Thursday the streets were filled with ghoulies, ghosties and favorite characters from literature, stage, and screens as they haunted the streets on Halloween across the county.

The businesses in Saratoga got together to make a safe, exciting trick-or-treating experience for kids of all ages. Owners and employees dressed for the day in fun costumes.

From November 1 until November 3, there was a murder mystery going on at the Virginian Hotel.

Jet Hospitality promotion director Maddie Benton decided several months ago to do a murder mystery where patrons would be the detectives.

The 2nd Annual Saratoga Fall Festival, held on Saturday, October 19, brought a perfect mix of family fun, delicious food, and community spirit to downtown Saratoga. With activities ranging from pumpkin painting to pony rides, there was something for everyone at this year’s event.

Fourth Annual Water Stop Jamboree Revives Medicine Bow Traditions

On September 27 at 7 p.m. at Cooper’s Garage in Medicine Bow, JB’s Stop-N-Shop and The Old West Bar, along with other sponsors, presented the fourth annual Water Stop Jamboree. The event that started on Friday with live music by the Cul-De-Sac Cowboys continued on September 28 with a vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Cul-De-Sac Cowboys played music later that evening. 

Annual Party on the Platte a Sold-Out Success

Last Friday’s highly anticipated Party on the Platte, benefiting the Platte Valley Community Center Foundation, has officially sold out. The event, set to take place at the Platte Valley Community Center (PVCC) in Saratoga, is expected to draw a full house of 350 attendees.

Ranchers, distillers, and local businesses came together Saturday to support the local 4-H chapter with a community-driven event, the Wyoming Born and Raised Beef and Whiskey. The event, held in Riverside, drew residents and visitors alike to celebrate Wyoming’s agricultural roots with food, drink, and music.

Elk Mountain Revives Labor Day Tradition

The Town of Elk Mountain and its Park and Recreation board decided this Labor Day, they were going to have a get-together with food and games for all the town’s residents to enjoy at the town park.

Brett Larson, who is Chairman of the Recreation and Parks board said the town had done this party in the past, but in the mid-2000s, the tradition stopped.

Bullfest Brings a Scary Reminder and Lots of Fun

 The bulls were out in force last Saturday night at Buck Springs Arena in Saratoga, where L4, Sand Creek, and Jackson Hole Bucking Bulls showcased their best, and it was a sight to behold. The action-packed evening served as a vivid reminder to riders, bullfighters, safety personnel, and fans alike of just how dangerous this sport can be.

The Grand Encampment Museum’s (GEM) Annual History Symposium was a two day event that featured movies that are poignant examples of Western history and culture.

GEM’s Director Tim Nicklas said the first symposium happened in 2019.
