Hanna Elementary School (HES) and Medicine Bow Elementary Principal Jackie Jones was on a trip over the summer to photograph wildlife with her husband Cliff, Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) Middle/High School Athletic Director and she told him, she wanted to “go big” with the celebration of HES turning 10 years old.

Medicine Bow Elementary Students Learn Flag Retirement Etiquette During 9/11 Memorial Lesson

The Medicine Bow Elementary kids had a 9/11 memorial lesson on the Ceremony of Final Tribute for an American flag and the etiquette required from the American Legion Post 64 and Auxiliary.

According to The National Flag Foundation, there are rules to follow for conducting a patriotic flag-burning ceremony which the young ones watched.

A lot of new hires will tell you they are happy to be in their new position and it might seem like lip service. 

Cynthia Porter, the new assistant principal at Rawlins Middle School, there is zero lip service, she is sincerely excited to be in the school.

Porter has been teaching for 16 years.
