Soup luncheons resume

By Dick Perue

The ever-popular Fall Soup Luncheons, sponsored by the Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church of Saratoga, will resume this month.

A variety of five or six homemade soups will be served every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19th and 26th as well as Nov. 2nd and 9th in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Third & Bridge Sts. The cost of the all-you-can-eat soup, plus drink, dessert, rolls, crackers, bread and butter is $10 per person. All proceeds go to benefit church and community projects sponsored by the Deacons.

Members of the sponsoring organization invite everyone to attend and enjoy a bowl or two of soup, plus all the fixings. Some regulars to the luncheons say they only take half a bowl of each soup offered so they “won’t insult any of the fine cooks” who prepare and donate the various dishes.

No reservations are required.
