While I was growing up, my stepmother’s aunt, Mama Linnie, lived with us. My stepmother was raised by Mama Linnie because my stepmother’s mother died in childbirth.

Now I wish I could tell you Mama Linnie was a warm individual, but that would not be the truth.

She was a woman who was obsessed with money and family, if you were blood.
