West Fiber

All West Fiber announced today the expansion of its multi-gig fiber broadband network, bringing high-speed internet access to more than 3,700 homes and businesses in the previously underserved Rawlins, Wyoming community. This investment is focused on bridging the digital divide and delivering future-ready connectivity typically found in larger metropolitan cities.

Skinny’s in Hanna went through some transitions after COVID hit. Like many restaurants/bars, it had to close.

Owners Lenny and Katrina Powell had a place that many locals like to hang out and like many places in Carbon County towns, it has a very loyal following.

Michal Lujan’s family’s first restaurant in Rawlins was downtown and called the Chilli Parlor. This was 1972.

In 1973, his father, Joe, was looking to expand, and he was going to purchase a restaurant that was on the edge of the downtown area.

Jufri Uttma has been working at Ichiban in Rawlins since it first opened its doors five years ago.

He is the general manager and has been so since the grand opening.

Uttma has come to enjoy living in Rawlins and introducing customers to cuisine and spirits in which they may not be familiar.

Perry and Linda Goodrich have been working with the consignment and antique shop, Wyoming Woman for over a year, where they put in a booth in February of 2025.

The couple, who live in Hanna, are collectors of antiques and items that are rare.

Visitors who come to the town of Saratoga are charmed by the Platte River that runs through the town and often go to the Hobo Pool, which is a hot spring. 

The Hobo Pool is not the only hot spring in this town. The Saratoga Hot Springs Resort and Spa offers hot springs for luxury enjoyment. There is nothing hobo about this beautiful resort.

“There are residents in Rawlins that don’t even know we have a bus service,” Jerry Mason, the bus driver for the city, said. “Most of the customers I get are people that have come to town where maybe their car broke down, truck drivers that are getting work, and people that don’t have cars.”

The 22nd Annual Festival of Trees Gala & Auction brought a splash of island sunshine to downtown Saratoga on Dec. 5, drawing record-breaking attendance. Guests mingled among twinkling trees, festive décor, and a tropical Christmas theme, “Mele Kalikimaka,” the Hawaiian greeting for “Merry Christmas.”
