I may know a fair amount about flavored whiskies, especially since I worked with Fireball the way I did about a decade ago.

Fireball was the first really big flavored whiskey to resound with the drinking public. There had been some honey flavored whiskies, such as Wild Turkey Honey, Jack Daniels Honey and Jim Beam Honey which came a little later than the other two.
