Winter is fast approaching, although there are signs in some ways it is already here. The ground and many river sources are frozen. Trees are bare, with the exception of evergreens, and plants have died back.

Nights are cold, although the days have still been moderate compared to what Wyoming has in store for residents of Carbon County in the months to come.
