Coming up is a day when people can support their favorite nonprofits and make a real difference. The 6th Annual WyoGives will take place on Wednesday, July 16, running from midnight to midnight. The WyoGives website will accept donations until 11:59 p.m. that day.

The 4th of July is one of those days that make me realize how lucky I am to be an American.

I attribute this to spending a good part of my adult life overseas in countries that could really care less about the United States and Americans when this day rolled around.

Darby C. Doll came into my life in Taichung, Taiwan, some decades ago. He was dating a woman named Trish Vietti. Some people in Saratoga may remember her since she lived there for a while.

I got along with both and it was not long before I found myself doing a lot of things with them.

The lawsuit that has recently been put forth is stupid, bogus and designed to cost the Carbon County Comet money. Those are my thoughts or opinions anyway. It is also mentally and emotionally exhausting.

To me, the lawsuit has no merit and talking to our lawyer is always informational, but it can get expensive. Actually, it has already become expensive.

Anyone who knows me will tell you how much I dislike deer. Besides treating my gardens as their personal restaurants, I think sometimes they leave poo on my sidewalks just to make me angry.

It works.

I get mad and frustrated with the constant cleanup.

Recently I got to lodge at the Brush Creek Resort for a night that showed me what is available to be enjoyed when staying there.

It was a fantastic experience which will be written up in a story in the near future.  

While I was there, I ran into a person who is a native son of Wyoming, and well respected who said something that I found completely true.

Last Friday was typical in my life and in some ways, a real learning experience.  I had just come off the spring bug and was not a 100 percent, so I was still a bit tired. 

I was looking to keep the day as easy as possible, although I knew it potentially could be active.

My morning on Fridays starts at 7:15 a.m., when I usually get a call from our delivery driver to let me know that he is outside of Laramie.

I have a summer flu/cold. I hate these illnesses worse than the ones that hit in winter. In winter, when you’re sick, you don’t feel like you’re missing much. It’s cold, gray, and staying inside makes sense. Today is blue skies with just a little wind so I feel a little insulted. I am missing a nice day.

I enjoy spring.

I am lucky because I have little to no allergies as flowers, bushes and trees start throwing out their pollen.

Maybe the Cottonwood gives me some sniffles, but I know people who have to take allergy pills and have to fear allergy attacks.

The first time I went to Ocean City, Maryland was right after my prom. It is an amazing place.

In winter, itßulation of just under 7,000 but when summer hits, the city becomes the second largest city in the state of Maryland with a population that fluctuates from 330,000 to 350,000. 

I lived in a few different places growing up.

I started off in Virginia because I was born there and was where the first NASA headquarters was located.

I did not know it when I came into the world, but in the first 20 or so years of my life, I was going to be very much exposed to the world and industry of space flight.

It started when my father left the Air Force as a captain and a jet fighter pilot and went straight to NASA which was being newly formed.
