Saratoga/Ryan Park Museum Tax District
The Saratoga-Ryan Park Museum District will establish regular meeting times and dates, elect officers, name official publications and depositories at their first meeting in January, scheduled for January 11 at 5 p.m. at the Saratoga Museum.
Officers will also provide individual Disclosure of financial interest/pecuniary benefit or business relationship with official depository, approve the certificate of elected officials terms, and select the person responsible for complying with public records requests.
In addition, regular business of paying bills, approving minutes and hearing updates on the events and activities of the Saratoga Historical and Cultural Association and any items from the public will also take place at the first yearly meeting of the Saratoga-Ryan Park Museum District. The public is always invited to attend the meetings of the museum district and provide input.
The tax funded district was established in 2020 with a successful ballot initiative put before voters in Carbon County electoral District 11-1 and most of 11-2. The funding received enables the Museum to continue to operate year-round with regular hours and a full-time director. The district officials work together with the non-profit Saratoga Historical and Cultural Association board, the Museum Director, and members to make improvements and discuss the future direction of the museum.
Winter hours for the Saratoga Museum are currently 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admittance to the museum is free. Any further questions may be directed to museum Director Dana Davis at the museum (307) 326-5511.
