Bones Tell the Story of Western Bison

A bison bone may appear to be little more than a remnant of an animal that died centuries or even thousands of years ago. To archaeologist Holly “Sonny” Shelton, however, a bone can be a scientific record containing information about climate, animal health, human activity and how bison once moved through the rugged country west of the Continental Divide.
