Employee milestones, property taxes, hospital finances, land-use decisions and even a drawing for boxes of beef were among the wide-ranging topics before the Board of Carbon County Commissioners during its Sept. 1 meeting.

The meeting began on a positive note as county departments recognized employees for years of service.
