Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray

On September 10th, Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray addressed the Only Citizens Vote Bus Tour finale rally at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on his support of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to require documentary proof of United States citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.

The American Legion Auxiliary William Horn Post 64 out of Elk Mountain hosted a 911 program at the Medicine Bow Fire Station. There were 70 elementary students in attendance from Rock River, Medicine Bow and Hanna to witness a flag burning ceremony and to learn about the importance of the day that happened over two decades ago.

In response to escalating wildfire risks, Carbon County officials have enacted stringent fire restrictions prohibiting open flames and the use of incendiary or tracer ammunition until further notice. The decision, made by the Board of Carbon County Commissioners, aims to mitigate the heightened fire danger posed by prolonged dry conditions and accumulated fuel loads.

The Elk Mountain town council met on Monday, August 11, to conduct their regular  Town Council meeting. Mayor Morgan Irene presided over the meeting, which started at 6:30 p.m.

Council members Joe Neel, Angie Hobbs, Linda Crane and Craig Mustard were all present.

The Encampment Town Council met at 7 p.m. on August 14 at the Encampment Town Hall for their regularly scheduled meeting. Mayor Shannon Fagan was present. All council members were there too. Stas Banach, Ashley McKinney, Susan Munson and Steve Reichert were present. The agenda, minutes from the previous regularly scheduled meeting and financials were approved.
