When the Town of Elk Mountain has an indoor fundraiser, dance, celebration, or funeral reception, the Elk Mountain Firehouse is cleared out, and the function is held there.

That could be changing in the near future.

Carbon County Library Director Maria Wenzel has been with the Library for over four years and director for two years and she said, a very tough decision had to be made recently by herself and the Library Board.

Due to budgetary restrictions, a painful step had to be taken and a library branch had to be shut down.

That branch is Sinclair.
