The Saratoga cross country team left their mark at the Liberty Bell Invitational held in Littleton, Colorado, with Head Coach Rex Hohnholt expressing his satisfaction with the team’s performance. “We had a great third meet this week at the Liberty Bell Invitational,” said Hohnholt. “All the athletes but one posted a seasonal or personal best at this meet, so that was very positive moving forward.”
Hohnholt commended the athletes for their approach to the meet, emphasizing the effort they put into the beginning of the race to achieve their goals. “We are getting some kids finally realizing what they can accomplish by the end of the season if they keep getting the most out of all the work they put into the individual, daily practices,” he added. “Again, thanks to all you high school runners for the effort this past weekend.”

Looking ahead, the Rawlins Invitational Cross Country meet is scheduled to take place at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course in Rawlins, Wyoming. Hohnholt reminded everyone to mark their calendars for the Shana Ward Memorial Invitational on Friday, September 22, starting at 1:00 at the Saratoga Inn and Resort Golf Course. “From talking to other coaches, it could be a very big meet with several 2A, 3A, and 4A schools in attendance,” Hohnholt noted. “I am very excited to host this meet and give our community a chance to watch our talented athletes compete. Hope many of you can make it to support the kids.”
He added a reminder for 8th and 12th Grade cross country runners and their parents, saying, “As per tradition, these athletes and their parents will be recognized by our booster club during the last home contest of their high school or 8th-grade career.”
Saratoga Cross Country continues to impress, and their dedication and hard work are paying off as they strive for excellence in every meet. The community eagerly anticipates the upcoming events to cheer on these talented young athletes.
