Local artist Jarred James has generously donated a hand-crafted cat sculpture to Pet Partners of Carbon County. The carved feline is set to be raffled off, with proceeds benefiting the organization’s mission to support the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter and reduce the number of unwanted litters in Carbon County.
James, a talented artisan known for his chainsaw woodcarving skills, made the generous donation during a recent interview at ArtBeat2023. The carving is currently on display at Windswept Goods in Rawlins.
Pet Partners of Carbon County is excited to announce that raffle tickets for this one-of-a-kind piece can be purchased at Windswept Goods, obtained from any of their dedicated volunteers at the organization’s upcoming adoption events. Additionally, interested participants can secure their chance to win by calling Pet Partners at 307-321-4024.
The organization anticipates that the raffle will most likely coincide with their January adoption event, pending the achievement of their fundraising goal of $2,000. A decision on the exact date will be announced once the target is reached. As of now, Pet Partners of Carbon County has already garnered $780 in contributions.
Pet Partners of Carbon County, in collaboration with the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter, is dedicated to addressing the issue of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens in the community while maintaining the no-kill status of the shelter. Their multifaceted approach involves extensive fundraising to support spaying, neutering, and vaccinating every dog and cat that enters the shelter. The organization also provides spay/neuter coupons to residents of Carbon County and implements a trap, neuter, vaccinate, and return (TNVR) program for feral and community cats.
Volunteers at Pet Partners of Carbon County frequently host adoption events and distribute colorful posters featuring adoptable dogs and cats to ensure that every pet in the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter finds a forever home.
Some of the services and activities undertaken by Pet Partners of Carbon County include:
• Covering the cost of spaying/neutering and vaccinations for all shelter cats and dogs.
• Offering spay/neuter coupons to community members in Carbon County.
• Running a trap/neuter/release (TNR) program for feral cats and owned barn cats, identified by an ear tip.
• Hosting Adopt-a-Thons in collaboration with the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter and Pet Partners of Carbon County at Tractor Supply Co.
• Participating in quarterly street clean-up programs and submitting reports to the City of Rawlins, as part of their contract to receive monetary support.
• Transporting animals to rescues and new homes when volunteers are available.
• Active involvement in community events to raise funds, educate the public, and provide volunteer opportunities.
• Supporting a foster home program for adoptable animals from the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter and Pet Partners of Carbon County.
• Assisting the shelter in finding placements or providing training for hard-to-adopt animals.
Pet Partners of Carbon County does not cover medical costs for pets belonging to Carbon County residents, cremation expenses for deceased pets, full-price spaying/neutering for resident animals, or vaccination costs for resident pets.
