Excitement Builds for the Carbon County Fair

With the summer in full swing, the residents of Carbon County are eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated annual event - the Carbon County Fair kicked off on Wednesday, July 12, and runs through Saturday, August 5. The fair promises to be a week filled with delicious food, exciting competitions, and a celebration of local talent and agriculture.

The fair’s organizers have put together an action-packed schedule that will keep both young and old entertained throughout the event. As we look forward to this week-long celebration, here are some highlights from the schedule that have the community buzzing with excitement.

The Lion’s Club Breakfast at Jeffrey Center kick-starts the day on July 29, energizing fairgoers for the events ahead. The Fair Parade Downtown is a much-anticipated spectacle, showcasing floats, bands, and local organizations parading through the streets.

Fair days are marked by a flurry of events, including the Dairy Goat Show, Sheep Show, Meat Goat Show, Rabbit Show, Poultry Show, and Market Beef Show. Visitors can watch the judging and see the finest animals from local breeders.

The much-loved Ranch Rodeo will keep everyone entertained Tuesday, August 1.

The highly anticipated PRCA Rodeo takes place Wednesday, August 2 at 7 p.m.

Country music star Aaron Watson will be performing at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 3.

The fair concludes Saturday, August 5 on a high note with the Demolition Derby at the Grandstands, where drivers go head-to-head in a thrilling display of vehicular chaos.

Throughout the week, the Exhibit Buildings will be open to the public, showcasing the talents and creativity of local artists and artisans. The fairgrounds will be alive with laughter, cheers, and the sense of community that this event brings to Carbon County year after year.
