Dear Editor,

As we approach Veterans Day, we are often reminded to “thank a veteran for their service.” While this gesture is deeply appreciated by many of us who have served, I have come to realize that for some veterans, those words do not carry quite the same meaning. It is not that they are ungrateful for the recognition, but rather that something else would go so much further in truly honoring their service and sacrifice.
